Our sports massage services aim to relieve muscle tension, improve flexibility, enhance performance, and speed up recovery post-injury. Body maintenance is an important part of any comprehensive healthy regimen. Regular preventative care can maintain you at peak performance while protecting yourself against unnecessary soft tissue injury.
Bodies Kneaded therapists are trained in treating injuries experienced by athletes, such as hamstring strains or shin splints. Deep tissue massage therapists can identify and treat areas of muscle weakness, but they usually aren’t treating sport-specific injuries.
Deep tissue massage primarily treats musculoskeletal issues like strains and sports injuries. It aims to alleviate chronic muscle pain and stiffness.
Massage therapy techniques can help to relieve, reduce or even prevent muscle knots. Deep tissue massage or sports massage techniques work on the muscles that are tight or have the knots. Trigger point massage can be firm and specific pressure to the areas of restriction or “knots” and cause release of that knot.
A sports massage has enormous health and therapeutic benefits. Sports massages have the added bonus that they incorporate the therapeutic elements that other forms of massage are celebrated for. It helps with injury prevention and recovery, but also with the wellbeing of the athlete.
Lymphatic drainage massage uses gentle techniques to move the lymphatic fluid around. Sports massage can be a little uncomfortable at times, especially if you have knots or injured muscles. However, your therapist should communicate with you throughout the treatment to make sure you aren’t in pain.
Deep tissue massage helps loosen knots and adhesions, while a Swedish massage helps ease tight muscles and promotes relaxation. A hot stone massage combines heat with massage. Shiatsu and Thai massages allow you to be fully clothed while a therapist stretches you or applies pressure to specific points.
The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it.

Trigger points, or muscle knots, are hyperirritable spots within a taut band of skeletal muscle. The pressure applied during therapy can cause these points to release, sometimes resulting in a popping sound. This release can alleviate local and referred pain associated with trigger points.
A monthly massage keeps the body in optimum condition and helps keep you energised and feeling loose. For people that exercise regularly – 3-4 times a week, we would strongly recommend having a sports massage every 2-4 weeks.
